For more than 20 years, Hutchinson has been designing and manufacturing molded pulleys made from thermoset phenolic resins.

The specific thermoset phenolic resin offers mechanical properties and heat resistance comparable to those of steel, while its low density reduces the product weight by up to three times.

Expertise

Thanks to a tailor-made design, Hutchinson’s development teams carry out dedicated and optimized designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This approach enables the precise definition of the pulley thickness and rib reinforcement, while integrating specific features such as steel inserts or stretch belt fitting, to best meet the requirements of each application.

Structure

Hutchinson’s injection and compression molding processes ensure homogeneous fiber distribution and orientation, resulting in mechanical properties comparable to those of steel products. Our molding process also enables the production of complex geometries without requiring additional machining, thereby reducing manufacturing costs.
