Acoustics and vibration
for Lifts & Escalators
Your Machinery Is Rarely Installed Where Noise Is Not an Issue
An elevator machine room is often located adjacent to residential apartments, offices, or hotel rooms, sometimes separated only by a concrete slab a few centimeters thick. The traction machine and motor transmit vibrations into the building structure, which then radiates them into adjacent spaces as low-frequency noise that is difficult to identify and even harder to trace to its source.
Complaints typically arise after commissioning, when corrective actions become far more complex and costly, requiring suspended ceilings to be reopened or finished flooring to be removed.

Our Acoustic and Vibration Isolation Solutions
Heavy-Duty Isolation Mounts
These mounts are the benchmark solution for traction machinery installations. Their design combines one or more elastomer layers bonded to flat, parallel steel plates, enabling them to withstand very high compressive loads.
A wide range of performance characteristics can be achieved by adjusting rubber hardness and the number of intermediate plates, without altering the overall footprint of the mount. The elastomer also offers excellent resistance to atmospheric exposure, making it particularly suitable for technical rooms with limited ventilation.
These mounts are available in both cylindrical and rectangular configurations to match your installation requirements.
Restrained Isolation Mounts
Some installations require more than vibration isolation alone, particularly where equipment may experience uplift forces during transient operating conditions.
Our low-frequency restrained mounts operate in compression while incorporating an elastic restraint system that prevents lift-off without increasing system stiffness. The design combines a high-strength steel spring, a stainless-steel damping element, and a flexible restraint limiter to create a fully captive mounting solution.
Acoustic Foams
Airborne noise from the machine room is most effectively controlled at its source rather than through structural supports alone. Our acoustic composites combine polyurethane foams and cellular rubber materials to reduce noise through insulation, absorption, and damping.
Suitable for both partial and full acoustic enclosures, these solutions help create quieter building environments while improving overall occupant comfort.
