Acoustics and vibration
for Agriculture & Forestry Vehicles
The Engine Remains the Primary Source of Vibration
In tractors and forestry carriers, the engine remains the main source of vibration, often generating greater disturbance than terrain irregularities themselves. These vibrations are transmitted directly to the cab, where operators may spend up to ten hours a day. At the same time, they place continuous stress on mounting systems and onboard equipment.
Addressing both operator comfort and equipment durability early in the design process helps prevent costly issues during production and throughout the vehicle's service life.

Our Acoustic and Vibration Isolation Solutions
Engine Mounts and Cab Mounts
Engine and cab mounting systems are at the heart of vibration management in agricultural and forestry vehicles. A typical engine mount consists of a conical elastomer element positioned between two metal inserts, designed to absorb vibration before it reaches the chassis.
Some of our advanced designs go further, incorporating two preloaded elastomer elements within a single housing. This architecture enables significant axial deflection and customized stiffness characteristics along all three axes.
This distinction is particularly important for off-road vehicles, as a cab behaves very differently when travelling across rough terrain than when the vehicle is idling.
Our solutions cover load ranges from a few hundred to several thousand decanewtons, and the external interface can be adapted to match your specific mounting requirements.
Metal Isolation Mounts
When operating temperatures or environmental conditions exceed the limits of elastomer-based technologies, we offer fully metallic isolation solutions.
At the core of these systems is a metal cushion manufactured from knitted stainless steel wire that is compressed to achieve precise mechanical characteristics. This technology delivers high damping performance while maintaining its properties in temperature ranges where conventional rubber materials would degrade.
Elastic Bushings and Flexible Couplings
These two product families address distinct mechanical requirements.
Elastic bushings replace conventional mechanical joints in oscillating or pivoting applications with limited angular movement. Their preloaded design, incorporating an elastomer element between two cylindrical sleeves, eliminates the need for periodic lubrication and reduces maintenance requirements.
Flexible couplings transmit torque between driving and driven shafts while absorbing torque fluctuations and irregularities. They also shift critical resonance speeds away from the operating range, a function that becomes essential when interconnected systems are mounted on elastic supports.
Acoustic Foams
Airborne noise is most effectively reduced at its source rather than through mounting systems. Our engineered acoustic foam solutions combine sound insulation, sound absorption, and damping technologies to control noise emissions.
Integrated into partial or full machine enclosures, these materials help improve operator comfort while supporting compliance with increasingly stringent noise requirements.
